STAGING YOUR HOME TO SELL

THE BENEFITS TO STAGING

Turns negative to positive: Small room? you can make it look bigger using small furniture and painting the room light.

Well-staged home stands out: Staging your home will give the potential buyers a visual image on how they can maximize the space and fit into their lifestyle and furnishings.   Staging also personalizes the space.  It gives the house that warmth and gives the place an impression that it was well-taken cared of.

Sells Faster and for a higher price: There's no real monetary measure that can validate this; but if a $1,000 investment in renting the right furniture, accent decor and painting can garner an offer faster and for a higher price, it may be worth it.

MAKING YOUR HOUSE 'SELL-READY'

Ready to sell your home?  There are a few inexpensive things you can do to make it ready for showing:

Paint: invest in good paint materials.  A fresh coat of paint can brighten just about any room.  To hire someone can likely set you back $1,000 for a 1,000 square foot home.  But a weekend day and a few gallons of paint could likely cost you no more than a few hundred dollars. Stick with neutral colors.

Flooring: carpeting is the easiest and cheapest way to dress up the flooring in any home.  A quality wood laminate can also go along way and is only a fraction of what a wood flooring would cost.  Have wood floors?  A fresh stain can help increase the value of the house.

3D's: Declutter, De-personalize, and Design: Keep the rooms clean, neat and clutter-free.  Put things away in a storage rental for a month or two.  De-personalize: put away any personal photos, neutralize any bright, loud walls, and change the gym room back to bedroom, and so forth.  Design: invest a few dollars in inexpensive artwork from Ross, buy some accent decor (vases, flowers, etc.).  Stick with one or two accent colors.  Buy a brand new curtain.

Refresh: wash the windows, pull out weeds, keep trash area clean, power-wash the driveway, plant a few flowers in the front yard.
